Our carefully sequenced curriculum is structured through performing, composing and listening (understanding music) to help pupils progress over time. Our curriculum is ambitious and is adapted accordingly to meet the needs of all students.
Students will perform, listen to and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions including the works of the great composers and musicians.
Students will create and compose music on their own and with others, have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, use technology appropriately and have the opportunity to progress to the next level of excellence.
Students will understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated including through the interrelated dimensions: dynamic, rhythm, pitch, structure, melody, tempo, timbre/sonority, texture, harmony and appropriate musical notations.
