Working Together for Good Behaviour

At Crawshaw, we developed our core values alongside the student body and are launching these across the school community in September 2024.

We strongly value and foster a climate of mutual respect between staff and students, creating a positive learning and working environment for all. As with all communities we require basic rules to function effectively, and within school this is explained through the Behaviour Policy and managed by the positive behaviour system.

We have made some amendments to our behaviour system to align with our values and ensure that students have unambiguous rules to follow, so they are understood by all and are focused on supporting effective teaching and learning. The behaviour system will be language focused so students are taught about acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, not just at school but also in wider society.

The school behaviour system is designed to support our young people in achieving and making the right choices with their behaviour by providing clarity and consistency in terms of our expectations, rewards and sanctions. We believe that developing a culture of success and achievement for all is essential for supporting and maintaining good behaviour in order to give students choices for the future.

The behaviour system will be taught explicitly to students in all years in September but also at the start of every term to ensure that all students are empowered to make positive choices.
