Enterprise at Key Stage 3 is a crucial part of our Personal Development Curriculum.

In these lessons digital literacy is developed through a project-based approach, with a clear focus on the Ofsted Personal Development criteria. Ensuring that our students become work ready and employable are key priorities for the academy.  We work with local businesses to provide a programme of study that is relevant to our students. We have developed an innovative Programme of Study which enhances students’ understanding of business and IT concepts, whilst using the Gatsby benchmarks to anchor the Careers elements of the course. Our use of the Start Profile within these lessons shows ‘excellence in embedding careers-related learning across the curriculum’ (Quality in Careers Report 2021).

Key Stage 4

Business Studies GCSE and the Enterprise and IT vocational courses at Key Stage 4 offer learners a defined progression route into higher education or employment, building high level skills such as teamwork, creative thinking and presentation skills. We focus upon developing students’ independent research and study skills within a challenging curriculum.
