Crawshaw Academy Post-16: Part of the Pudsey Confederation

The Pudsey Confederation is an established Post 16 partnership between the three local schools:  Crawshaw, Priesthorpe and Pudsey Grangefield.  This partnership has existed for over 20 years.  Why does it exist? The Confederation exists for many reasons:  It allows students from our three schools to be offered the widest choice of curriculum possible by using courses available within the three schools. The choice of courses on offer has never been larger. Staff within the different schools make contact to develop teaching and learning ideas and spread good practice. The Confederation offers skilled and experienced staff who are dedicated to providing a learning experience which is of the highest quality and which is right for our students. We back this up with a caring and supportive environment, with transport laid on for 'travelling' students to ensure that they reach their lessons in good time.

Year 12 Work Experience

Year 12 students spend one week off timetable on work experience placements during inJuly.  In previous years, students have attended placements at Link Communication, Go Outdoors, Airedale Care Home plus a number of pharmacies and primary schools. The placements enabled students to develop a range of transferable skills all of which will help to inform UCAS and apprenticeship/employment applications.

Year 13 – Leavers BBQ

A fantastic turnout for our Year 13 Leavers BBQ; thank you to our own private chef for all the catering!

Thank you for being model students in our Sixth Form at Crawshaw Academy.

Post 16 Team wish you all the best for the future.

Year 11 – Transition to Year 12 – Welcome Week

We had an excellent turnout from Year 11 in summer as they tried out their new subjects for the first time.

Our activity afternoon at Pudsey Grangefield was an absolute blast, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and staff!

Please access the website for the Summer Bridging Tasks; these are designed to give you the best possible start on your new subjects in September.

It was lovely for the Post 16 Team to get to know the students.

Post 16 Bursary

We are pleased to support our students to overcome the barriers of low income.  With this in mind, we have a Post 16 Bursary Policy, which is in place to provide support for vulnerable students, students who are eligible to free school meals or those facing financial hardship (e.g. families with an income below £30,000 are eligible but not guaranteed support for financial support for travel and other associated costs at Post 16 level.)

If you wish to find out more about eligibility, the policy and associated forms are available to below.  Applications are invited in September and January & April.  Urgent needs will be considered at any point.  For information about this or anything else related to our provision at Post 16, please contact Mrs Potter via the school switchboard or email
